Recent layoff in Oracle is really painful and devastating for many lives.
Layoff in corporate job is very common nowadays. So, we need to do a reality check and plan accordingly.
The problem is this - once you land a high-paying corporate job, it’s easy to believe that your position is secure and long-term. Over time, people get comfortable and forget a fundamental truth.
The reality
is simple — you are just a number.
Your identity in the system is your employee ID.
Nothing more.
Organizations are driven by profit and loss. As long
as you contribute to profitability, you are valued. The moment you are no
longer seen as profitable, you can be replaced instantly. Loyalty and tenure
rarely outweigh business priorities.
So what
should you do?
From day one of your corporate journey, you must think
differently. Yes, build skills. Gain experience. Grow in your job. But at the
same time:
-Start creating multiple sources of income
-Explore freelancing opportunities using your skills
-Begin small business initiatives, even at a minimal
scale
-Continuously look for income-generating ideas
Step out of your comfort zone and start building
something of your own.
This is the only sustainable path to financial
freedom. When you reach that stage, layoffs and job uncertainties will no
longer control your life.
For young professionals starting out: Think beyond the
9-to-5 job from day one.
-Start investing early, even with small amounts
-Learn how to build wealth through consistency
-Avoid impulse spending, show-off culture, and
unnecessary debt
-Focus on building income-generating assets
If you follow this approach with discipline, you can
significantly reduce dependency on a single job and create a more secure,
fulfilling life.

strategies, or financial direction, feel free to reach out.
